What Is Priest Lake Cannabis Company?
A plain answer to the question people search for: PLCC is a North Idaho brand in development, not a dispensary. What we are building, what we are not, and what would have to happen for that to change.
If you found this page by searching our name, you probably want to know whether we are a place you can go. We are not. Here is what we are.
A brand before a business
Priest Lake Cannabis Company, or PLCC, is the working name for a cannabis retail concept that cannot legally exist in Idaho today. Cannabis is illegal in the state for every purpose, and no license of any kind is issued. We have not applied for one, because there is nothing to apply for.
What we have done is decide what kind of company we would be if the law changed, and start behaving that way now. That means:
- An identity drawn from Priest Lake rather than from the cannabis industry: evergreens, deep water, weathered wood, the Selkirk Crest.
- A public, sourced record of Idaho cannabis law, updated when the law changes.
- Plain-language education about regulated cannabis products, written for adults following the policy debate.
- A guide to Priest Lake, Coolin, Nordman and the seasons, useful whether or not you care about cannabis at all.
What we are not
- Not a dispensary. No store, no menu, no products, no prices, no ordering.
- Not licensed. Idaho issues no cannabis licenses. We hold none.
- Not a hemp or CBD seller. We sell nothing.
- Not a source. We do not help anyone obtain cannabis, in Idaho or elsewhere.
- Not a prediction. We do not claim Idaho legalization is likely, imminent or inevitable.
What would have to change
For PLCC to operate as a cannabis retailer, Idaho would have to adopt a regulated framework, whether by legislation or initiative, and then issue licenses under it. We would then have to qualify for and obtain a license, satisfy local zoning and approval in Bonner County, and meet whatever operating rules the state set. Every one of those steps is uncertain and none is scheduled.
There is currently no confirmed date for cannabis legalization in Idaho. The next scheduled event, the November 2026 vote on HJR 4, concerns who has the authority to legalize, not whether to.
Who is behind it
People who live at and around Priest Lake, who have run other businesses, and who have watched North Idaho change. We will say more about ourselves as the brand develops. For now, the work speaks: read the Idaho cannabis hub, the Priest Lake guide, or get in touch.
